5-Paragraph Persuasive Essay
Why People Should Adopt a Pet from BJC Animal Control
There are many reasons why people should adopt a pet from BJC Animal Control. Although many people think of dogs as just pets, they are our companions and friends. One reason why you should adopt a pet is they get saved and not put to sleep. Also, many times mixed breed pets are healthier than purebreds. Finally, there are many adult animals to choose from and you do not have to go through that terrible puppy or kitten stage. Clearly, adopting a dog from an animal shelter can be very rewarding.
>
The first reason we should adopt a pet is so they get saved from death. If they are adopted they do not get
euthanized. Putting animals to sleep is senseless. Some people believe that it is actually painful. Every year over 90% of the animals that come to shelters die. Many of these would make great pets.
>
Another reason we should adopt pets from shelters is because mixed breed dogs are usually healthier. Many purebreds have genetic problems such as allergies and hip
dysplasia. These problems can cause expensive vet bills and can be painful to the animal.
>
Last but not least, you can get an adult dog. Adult animals are easier to teach. Some even have obedience training.
>
When you get ready to adopt a pet you should go to your nearby animal shelter. If you live Birmingham got to BJC Animal Control. They have a large selection of pets to choose. My dog Claude is the best.
